Aeta Nursery Establishment and Operations (LUZON)
Establishment and operationalization of community-based nurseries using inigenous forest and fruit trees species to upgrade upland environments of the Ayta Tribal communities and address biodiversity conservation and as part of an overall rehabilitation strategy for the restoration of productivity of areas affected by the Mt. Pinatubo eruption.
The following objectives of the project: First batch of seedlings (forest and fruit trees) will be transplanted to communal watershed areas and farmlots. A construction of a water impounding unit and a multi-purpose water system to support the nurseries and community needs. A goat livestock for livelihood and a pasture area as source of organic fertilizers. And production of an agro-forestry primer in comics format (Filipino version).

Gender Focus
Although limited, women participated in livestock and nursery establishment and outplanting.
Notable Community Participation
Community residents, victims of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and consequent lahar flows, identified and designed the project. They likewise actively participated in project implementation, particularly in nursery establishment, agro-forestry farms, outplanting and livestock raising.
