Study Tour on Community-Based Coastal Resource Management for NGOs and POs (NATIONWIDE)
The project intends to promote educational ecological exposure trips for NGOs and POs to coastal areas where fisherfolk have successful community-based resource management projects. Coastal areas visited included projects on fish sanctuaries, mangrove rehabilitation/conservation, coral reef protection, livelihood initiatives, and coastal community organizing. The Philippine Partnership for the Development of Human Resources (PhilDHRRA) - National coordinated the study tour with the assistance of their member organizations in the various regions. Resource persons were tapped from members of the POs, communities and NGOs visited and recognized institutions/universities/programs (Siliman University, Central Visayas Regional Project (CVRP), and the University of the Philippines College of Social Work and Development (UP CSWD).
