The project recognized that on-site, community-based types of seminars are most appreciated by grassroots organizations. Since grassroots organizations have difficulty in handling re-echo training due to lack of skills, the training modules also included leadership and facilitating skills. These are recommended as IEC materials for POs. The idea is to link the projec with VISCA, which was implementing an ecology program that specifically promotes/campaigns for the conservation of endemic tree species, facilitated module development, and delivery of the training activities. Networking and coordination with Environmental Lawyers League which established an office in Baybay in 1994 contributed to sustaining the project efforts.
