1. The data & information had been gathered and summarized as planned but not been used to formulate the plan. At least once or twice participatory meetings will be required
2. The capacity ,experience and mentality of community members were boosted up judging from their view on proposed activities.
3. Community members were able to establish fire-break zone and no-fishing zone resulting in additional activity on natural cloth dying with increased income of about Baht: 500-800: /month/family.
4.More members were received into the group , donation of Baht: 101,272.68, three forest funds established.

Impact:

The project activities had resulted in the increased awareness of the communities by participating in the protection of the
forest, establishing fire-break zone, putting out the wild fire. Moreover, surrounding communities were learning from the project.

Apart from farming which is the main occupation of the communities, supplementary income through weaving, livestock and off-season crops had been initiated. The established no-fishing zone in conjunction with regulating the consumption of forest products have been the immediate result of the project and will contribute to the food security in a longer term.

Simultaneously, the communities have endeavoured to disseminate the project idea to 5 other villages in the upper Ping water basin. The women?s group activities have been disseminated to other water basin network which resulted in a few open forums. More importantly, the TAO has been influenced by the women?s group and providing support to the activities.

Future Plan:

Specifically, the project plans to build capacity of the women?s group as well as increasing their role in the management of environment and natural resources. Another involves building capacity of communities in the management of the fund.

The project activities will continue at Mae Khong Sai village. The lessons learnt will be compiled and disseminated to other villages.

The activity on community-based management of natural resources will be followed up continuously. In some specific issue,such as forest ordination and data & information collection,support will be provided.
