Biomass based electric power generation model for sustainable Development
The project aims at introducing alternative means of income, apart from fishing to the communities living near Lake Victoria. Using biomass gasification this project intends to generate electricity for Asembo Bay township, a small town on the shores of Lake Victoria. The electricity will be used for micro-enterprises like fish preservation, welding, posho milling and others.

Gender Focus
Both men and women and additionally the youth will benefit from the project.The refrigeration of fish will increase the income and well being of both groups, women as sales persons and men as fishermen. Women will benefit from the irrigation scheme as they in particular are involved with horticulture. All groups will profit from the micro-enterprises.
