North Windward Integrated Community Land and River Management Project
The overall goal of the project was ?to establish an efficient system for the management of key natural and historical resources. The objectives of the project were as follows:

- to conserve forest resources, reduce illegal hunting and protect biodiversity through and integrated ecotourism initiative;

- to establish a system for the management and preservation of cultural and natural recreational sites throughout the Carib Community;

- to improve solid waste management practises throughout the area; and

- to organise and implement a clean-up of the Caratal River in Georgetown and develop a river monitoring programme.?

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
A number of workshops and public consultations on solid waste manage and other environmental concerns especially relating to coastal and marine ecosystems are planned project activities.
Capacity - Building Component
It is envisaged that the project will increase the capacity of the community members to address community environmental problems.
