Farming Sustainability through Renewable Energy
This project seeks to establish an organic farming programme to reduce pollution of the rivers and streams in the surrounding areas and to train farmers in the development and maintenance of solar technology.
The specific project objectives are:
- To establish an organic farming programme in the Buccament Valley with 25 farmers participating in the land reform programme;
- To improve the productivity on the farms and increase general output of crops among farmers;
- To reduce the cost of production by the individuals and the collective; and
- Develop awareness on matters of the environment in general and sustainable farming in particular.

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
It is envisage that the project will benefit farmers who are directly involved in the programme through increase productivity and reduce production cost. Other farmers will also benefit through the sharing of experiences and skills in the use of the new technology.
