An ethnobiological study in the proposed Togian Islands Marine Conservation Area
Project goals and objective (including GEF problem-area addressed by project) :
1. To develop local communities perception and understanding about conservation of biological diversity.
2. To document locally utilized bio-resources in Togian Islands conservation management processes.
3. To enable local communities to take greater part in conservation management processes.
4. To create income generating activities from conservation oriented activities.
5. To sustain ecological monitoring in Togian Island.
Activities to be carried out under project :
1. Biodiversity inventory.
2. Efforts to improve motivation and environmental awareness in the local community.
3. Training on conservation and useful environmentally sound skills..
4. Core groups formations in the local community.
5. Efforts to discover feasible alternative course of actions.
6. Intravillage Forum.
7. Networking.
