Documentation on Community Based Coastal Area Conservation Project
The project aimed to disseminate and promote the GEF/SGP approach and concern through producing a semi documentary film on one of the successful grantee's project (Lembaga Solidaritas Bangsa /LSB) in Sumbawa island, West Nusa Tenggara. The Head of LSB, Siti Aminah, is one of the recepients of Global 500 Award from UNEP, mostly because of her preseverence and determination toward community development and coastal conservation in this arduous area.

Project Development Objectives
Short Term objectives:
*The documentary film media is used as a tool to attract donor institution to cooperate with GEF/SGP (fundraising).
*The documentary film is also used as a tool in pushing other local organizations or CBO?s to promote their conservation activities which related to gender issues.

Long term objectives: to promote GEF/SGP Indonesia through success stories documentation, in Semangat Baru area, Desa Labuan Mapin, Kecamatan Alas, Kabupaten Sumbawa, NTB.

Project Activities:
*Preparation consisted of: preliminary research for the sites covered; target sites survey; meetings and consultation with local community; contract with film-crew; meetings and discussion with film-crew; arrangement with crew, script-finalization; equipment renting and transportation for the film-crew. *Implementation: film shooting, local-ethnic music recording; permits arrangement with local NGO and etc related.
*Post-production work/editing: off-line editing in VHS formats; approval; on-line editing; soundtrack and final cut; video-master copy in betacam; reporting and monitoring.

Expected result:
*The project provide 1 (one) copy of documentary film (10-20 minutes), in VHS Betamax format.
*To open channel to interest donors to work with GEF/SGP in funding supply for NGO or extra grant for the project.
*Significant increase of community participation in the mangrove rehabilitation project in Semangat Baru, desa Labuan Mapin.
*To increase other institution interests in the project, in other part of Indonesia, or further other country.
