'Strengthening and Supporting Women Participation in Conservation Efforts of Coastal and Marine Area
Project goal:
Sustainable utilization of marine resources and its conservation through strengthening house-wife group as new alternative source of income.
Project objective :
1. To enhance the productivity of the coastal community in utilization of marine resources;
2. To conserve the inhabitant island from erosion and abrasion;
3. To establish a new source of income;
4. To increase the quality of live of the community.
Activities to be carried out under the project :
1. Preparation.
a) Training module preparation;
b) Socialization of the project plan to the community;
c) Farming preparation.
2. Local training and education in the field.
a) Farming techniques;
b) Cultivation and preservation techniques;
c) Post harvest techniques;
d) Marketing and business management.
3. Outreach Approach.
a) Transfer of knowledge in farming;
b) Training module establishment;
c) Demoplot establishment for practical training purposes;
d) Replication of the succeed result to other areas;
e) Revolving fund establishment.
4. Technical Assistance.
a) Farming;
b) Sustainable utilization of marine resources;
c) Business management.
5. Evaluation and Reporting.

Anticipated result of project :
1. Women in the Kelapa islands have an applicable knowledge in environmentally friendly farming;
2. Effective utilization of marine resource;
3. Development of local varieties cultivation;
4. Increase the community quality of life.
