The project intended to conserve local resources, which ultimately will be benefial to conserve spring water source, which is hold an important role for Preserving local varities of ipoemea as an alternative food source
Project goal:
Increasing the uses of local kind bulb-root in order to diversify food available
Project objectives:
1.To maximize the uses of unproductive garden
2.To raise community?s awareness on conservation effort
3.To raise community?s participation on conservation activities, especially woman
4.To increase community capacity in managing biodiversity conservation effort
5.To increase community skill in post harvesting process
6.To increase farmer?s income by planting economic kind of plant
7.To provide choices on alternative food
8.To conserve biodiversity by planting local variety bulb-roots
Activities to be carried out under the project :
1.Preparation.
a)Program socialization
b)Networking
c)Forming working groups
d)Strengthening working groups
e)Demonstration project
f)Establishing of nursery center
2.Local training and education in the field.
a)Cultivation (planting, seedling, maintaining) of bulb-roots technique
b)Training on post harvest processing
c)Training on small scale industry management
3.Outreach Approach.
Meetings, Forming a Cooperative, Seminar, publication
4.Technical Assistance.
a)Field training for the community
b)Post harvest processing techniques
c)Marketing technique
5.Evaluation and Reporting.

Anticipated result of project :
1.Increased community?s awareness and participation on conservation effort by planting local varieties bulb-roots
2.15 working groups will be formed
3.Work plan of each working groups will be formulated
4.30 people will be trained as trainer
5.Plenty varieties of bulb-roots will be identified
6.Stock of bulb-root seedlings will be available in nursery center
7.Well maintained and well utilized gardens in each of the participant?s
8.Cooperative will be formed
9.Well documented and published community participation in biodiversity conservation effort
10.Well managed small scale industry
11.Increased income of local community
12.Adopted good technique in bulb-root cultivation by local community
