Protected 4 breeding sites of great grey shrike and 12 of red-backed shrike; liquidation of illegal dumping grounds in vicinity of breeding sites; in 35 sites grass was mowed and spiny shrub was planted in selected sites to improve habitat conditions.
Book about biology of shrikes and their protection was published as some articles in local newspapers.Lectures for 35 schools were organised.
Awarness about shrikes and the neccesity of protection of their breeding and preying sites was raised within local people and good ground for cooperation with farmers was laid down.
