1. Project with an original idea failed due to the fact that only 1 farmer out of 50 who declared participation in 50% cost of construction of pilot installation decided to participate.Top-bottom approach failed.
2.NSC approved the change in project which addressed then BARKA Foundation, our grantee.They cultivate rape-seed oil and had plans for such a solution, so failure of original POLBIOM's project finally found positive end in BARKA. Insteda of organising farmers themselves, we focus on CBO which organised themselves 10 year earlier.
3.Warning signal for GEF/SGP;next project proposal from POLBIOM concerning this same methodology (straw as a fuel for heating purposes, installation of 30 small boilers for farmers with 50%/50% financing was rejected by NSC on the ground of previous negative lesson and the lack of prospects for positive solution with POLBIOM as the onkly winner (workshops, trainings and operational cost).
4.Brochure was prepared in English and Polish, short TV film from opening ceremony and seminar held in Chudopczyce March 2002 caused extra duties for BARKA and disturbance in their routine work and life - individual group visitors (mainly farmers), representative of local governments 200-300-500km away, journalists from newspaper also from distant location.
5.NC participated as expert demonstrating GEF/SGP project during the Senate (upper chamber of the Parliamnet discussion on the new law on renewable fuels, then in September as a key speaker in the Senate seminar for rural development, with over 200 audience of MPs, Senators, political parties and farmer's associations.
