The project intends to provide alternative source of livelihood for the poachers who harvest the eggs for income and establishing community-based hatcheries that will serve as "pawikan" education center. Bangus fry, fish vending and seaweed culture are some of the livelihood activities of the community. Some of them have established trading and marketing of marine products landed by community fisherfolks. Others have ventured into livestock production, while others are into consumer store ventures. The Soroptomists International awarded the community with a five sacks of rice now use as a seed capital for their initial "bigasang bayan" venture.

The project is also focus in advocacy activities on in-situ "pawikan" conservation and participation of the general public especially the students for the campaign of marine turtle conservation project through information build-up (i.e. school campaigns, media information drive, press release, etc.)

The project promotes sustainability and strengthens in-situ conservation program within the target scope and decreased practice of non-environmentally sound activities. General impact of the project is a sustained development of the stakeholders depending to the environment. Since the program dwells on components that ponders on the importance of the area development and resource protection, both humanity and the environment will together meet their requirements. A community of healthy, empowered, economically regenerated and naturally taking its course without sacrificing its purpose as provider to mankind.

Women take active role in project implementation. The women and youth members of Bantay Pawikan is doing personal discussions with their neighbor barangays/community who are still engaging to illegal fishing activities.
