Domestic Energy Conservation in Kigezi Diocese
Kabale district consists of high terrain and is one of the most densely populated districts
in Uganda. The goal of the project is to address the problem of fuel wood deficiency and
the resultant land degradation problems (soil erosion, deforestation). Activities include
promotion of fuel efficient cook-stoves and promotion of alternative sources of energy
like Biogas, environmental awareness programmes and re-afforestation.
