This multifunctional project is going to promote ideas encouraged by GEF SGP trough telecasting. A weekly environmental program of 25 minutes shall be broadcasted on the LRT 36 times. The program aimed at spreading of environmental ideas in Lithuania.
Five programs will provide information on GEF SGP: biodiversity field will cover sites of foreseen SGP projects and major biodiversity concerns in the country; climate change field will include transport ecologization, new technologies, and restructurisation of energy sector; international water field will cover water pollution reduction, ecological agriculture, protection of fish spawning sites. The programme aims at educating people and rising their awareness about global environmental problems in SGP focal areas (especially during those 6 TV programmes, that are granted by GEF SGP), spreading information for the remote communities about SGP goals and principles, about the possibilities and ways to join our programme, giving lessons and best practices about first SGP community initiated projects.
We expect a very wide impact on information dissemination throughout this project, which is very important for the first year of the SGP functioning in Lithuania.
SGP will provide 8.24% of whole project budget (USD 7600 ). The total amount of the project budget is 92174.27 USD. The 55.54% of project co-financing comes from EU Access programme and 36.21% is NGO's in-kind contribution.
