Arabuko Sokoke Forest Eco-tourism and Schools Project (Mida Creek)
An eco-tourism project for awareness promotion and sustainable eco-tourism development. In this project A Rocha Kenya will assist the community around Arabuko Sokoke Forest and Mida Creek to construct a bird hide (a boarded walk way) to view birds at Mida Creek which houses some migratory birds. The project will also develop a bursary scheme for schools around Arabuko Sokoke forest which will be connected to planting of wood lots in the schools as a measure to relieve pressure from the forest in terms of fuel wood harvesting.
