Implementation and invigoration of the ecotourism activities in "La Graciosa" Bay, Santa Isabel Lagoon, and English Canal; in Punta de Manabique, Izabal.
Project pretends to implement a visitors center for ecotourism purposes; and includes the establishment of transport, feeding, terrestrial and aquatic walks, sale and rent of crafts without motor services. Amount the observation of the Manatí and local productive activities as the charcoal elaboration;with the purpose of protect, conserve and manage the area, in a sustainable way.
Santa Isabel is an important biological corridor for Dolphins and Manatí, so the project promotes the conservation of the natural resources of the zone, and seeks to create new sustainable economic alternatives for the peoples of the local community who survive of the extraction of vegetable coal.
Main activities of the project are as following: 1) Development the local capacities to implementation of ecotourism services, 2) Training in administration and ecotourism aspects to all participants, 3)The construction of a visitors center, 4)To buy a boat to transport tourists (this with the financial support of PPS, and will be managed as a internal revolving capital of the group), 5) Publicity of the available serevices into the community for the visitors and 6) Establish a coordination with all another groups that offer to tourists this services.
