Consolidation and amplification of the process of handmade managerial organization with women belong to Mayan group called Q´eqchi´, of the community Los Laureles, located into the zone of multiple uses; on hillside of the "Cerro San Gil" in Livingston, Izabal.
Projects consists in to give support in the organizational and managerial training, of a group of women belong to the ethnic group Q´ekchi´, who began thier activities producing crafts, using like row material, the "tusa" (leaves that cover the earcorn) and the stump of the banana tree, producing handmade paper.
To continue the process, they want to identify other alternatives of potential row material from wood tree. Also, they want to identify potential markets to sell their finished products. The main strategy will be the community participation and the training through workshops and hands-on activities to ensure the process is sustainable for the indigenous women.
