Garbage Management in five communities located in the river "Hato" watershead, in San Agustín Acasaguatlán, El Progreso.
The project seeks to develop an integrate system of the activities, related to garbage management and the native plants diversification; throghout the construction of the organic gardens (flowers, eatable, medicinal plants and vegetables) at family level, so that the families use the organic waste, after an earthworm degrading process called lombriculture. The final product of this process is known as lombricompost and is an organic fertilizer of high nutritional content for the plants. Developing a training process, the project pretend the generation of a culture of the rational natural resources management, to protect the environment and so avoid the pollution of the "Hato" river. conservation and protection of the environment and in that way to avoid the contamination of the river "Hato".
It is sought to make an appropriate handling of the inorganic garbage taken place by the communities; to produce organic payment by means of the appropriate handling of the organic garbage; to facilitate the access to the production of medicinal and nutritious plants characteristic of the region; to reproduce for the conservation fruit-bearing species of the region; to promote practical of organic agriculture; the use of medicinal plants and the appropriate handling of the different types of garbage.
Prospective results: 50 family gardens diversified with medicinal, ornamental and nutritious plants; 50 graves of storage of inorganic waste; 50 nurseries with 20 native fruit-bearing plants each one; 50 huts for lombricompost prosecution and 50 families applying technical of organic agriculture.
