The project will contribute to the communication and information sharing through the establishment of an on-line forum that consolidates environment NGOs and enhances the flow of information and experiences among them. This will contribute to sharing of lessons learned from community action in environment and development fields and the relation of that action to sustainable development. Project activities include providing training and some equipment to targeted NGOs in order to help them make use of the on-line forum. The project complements national initiatives supported by the UNDP in the field of IT Community Centers and the Sustainable Development Network Programme. The Arab Women Organization (grantee) will manage the on-line forum, providing NGOs, especially women NGOs, with the chance to exchange information on environment and sustainable development issues and building their capacities to be able to bridge the digital gap that seperates them form other more advanced NGOs, national and international organizations and the different sources of information.
