Promotion of wind powered irrigation farming for demonstration
The main objective of this project was to promote wide adoption of renewable energy technologies specifically wind energy and solar power for water pumping and irrigation farming for villages that are located adjacent to Lake Victoria.
The demonstration project will send clear lessons to the people, government, NGOs and donor community that Lake Victoria waters can feed people who live on its shores, if renewable energy technologies can be used to support small scale irrigation farms.
