Energy farm to reduce encroachment to the forest reserve for fuel wood
This project intends to reduce demand of fuel wood to villagers in Marangu and Machame by 75% by the year 2003 througth adoption of fuel efficient stoves . The project main activities will be training on construction of fuel efficien stove and tree planting. The establisted energy farms will increase the supply of fuel wood and reduce the encroachment to the forest reserves of Mt. kilimanjaro for fuel wood. the project will aslo create source of income for this group of women as they will be able to sell efficient cooking stoves and tree seedlings.
