Proposal to Carry out the Process to Educate stakeholders about COMPACT and to Finalize the Conceptual Model for the Belize Barrier Reef World Heritage Site on which the COMPACT Country Programme Strategy will be based.
The objective of this project is to engage the stakeholders in a process that will empower them to take advantage of the opportunities that COMPACT offers to those that have an interest in the protected areas that are within the Belize Barrier Reef World Heritage Site. The purpose is to carry out a process to make stakeholders aware of COMPACT and to engage them in the preparation of the conceptual model for the BBRWHS on which the COMPACT Country Programme Strategy and its interventions will be based.


The intended results of this project are as follows:
a) Stakeholders will have been updated on the analysis and findings of the baseline assessment and the preliminary conceptual model for the Belize Barrier Reef World Heritage Site (BBRWHS).
b) Promotional materials about COMPACT and the opportunities that it provides will have been developed and disseminated.
c) All stakeholder groups will have been informed about COMPACT and the opportunities that it provides.
d) The relevant absorptive capacity of stakeholders who are impacting the resources of each protected area within the BBRWHS.
e) Work with stakeholders to help them determine how they can become involved in the demonstration that COMPACT is undertaking will have occurred.
f) Stakeholders groups will have been educated on how to derive real benefit from the opportunities that COMPACT provides.
g) Stakeholders and the project team will have collaborated in the preparation of the conceptual model on which the COMPACT Country Programme Strategy and interventions will be based.
