Conservation of Kurulukele (forest reserve) flora and fauna and its management as a protected area by Sri Lanka Enviornmental and Exploration Society
Demarcating the boundaries of forest reserve, sampling and identification of flora and fauna, awareness raising and establishment of school environment societies. The NGO is formed of a committed group of youth who are school leavers and undergraduates and are keen on working with the community around the forest on species identification and recording. Their work with schools in the area are very effective as they have a special appeal to the children. The NGO desires to bring up the school environment societies to a reasonable standard so that in the future these youth have a good understanding of natural resources in their near environment.
