Conservation and protection of bio diversity in the Salgala forest reserve by Samuhika Sawardana Sanwidanaya
Baseline survey and form community based organization, awareness raising, training workshops, printing of promotional material and a booklet, revolving fund, increasing tree cover in home gardens, composting, vermiculture biogas demonstration, live fencing, ridges and nursery establishment. The main aim of the project is to make aware the community around the salgala forest the importanc eof foerst conservation. Th project will concentrate on providing alternative livelihood means such as bee keeping, mushroom cultivation so that the communty surrounding the forest minimize acts of distruption to the forest. Though awareness creatin on the importance of the forest the community will learn how to use the forest in a sustainble manner
