1.Using water buffaloes plowing rice field reduced the diesel consumption at Baht: 70:/rai, three rais/ day. Each participating family save, at average, Baht: 4,000/year
2. Acquiring four sacks of manure /rai replacing chemical fertilizer ,equivalent to Baht: 3,000/family/year
3. Ten water buffaloes yields ten offspring to distribute to other families.
4. There are additional ,3000 trees of native species in the project area.

Note: for area measurement , 2.47 rais = 1 acre

Participatory Evaluation: (Conducted on February 28, 2003)

Participants: About 100 participants from participating communities and concerned government officers as well as two members of NSC ( Mr. Yongyuth Opasathien and Ms. Aroonsri U-sriwongse)

Methods: One-day meeting in which history, objectives, undertaken activities and results were put forwarded for discussion.

Impact:

After about one year of implementation, 78 additional community members applied for membership of the group.

Project leaders were invited as resource persons on Water Buffaloes Project as Pilot Project to several interested communities.
