Initiating study groups on mammals birds and aquatic life by the Young Zoologists Association of Sri Lanka
Initiating a formal education programme for it's members as well as school children on the following study groups : mammals, birds, reptiles and aquatic life. In addition the conduct special one day workshops on selected themes. One objective was to strengthen the institutional capacity of the YZA and thereby improve effectiveness of the school programme. A range of interventions including strengthening of the capacity for training, development of educational materials that could be carried from place to place, strengthening of the school environmental clubs and publication of newsletters were introduced with the project funds.
