Strategic intervention to rehabilitate degraded areas and to enhance farm-land management capability through the adoption of applied farm technology.
The project proposed to develop a prototype of cost effective Contour-Hedgerow-Farming Technology System, to enhance farmland management capability of jhum farmers and establish double hedgerows on the jhum-cultivated land. It has developed seed banks of selected hedgerow species and enhance farm benefits through adoption of allied farm technologies and research on local nitrogen fixing species. Also proposed and carried out on-farm demonstration and extension with training and skill development of local jhum farmers.
