Awareness Generation and Capacity Building of local communities for sustainable use of resources in an ecologically sensitive area.
Project intends to enhance pro-environmental behaviour among the community at large and the rural school students through a mobile environment educational facility that will focus on land and water management, biodiversity, local livelihood concerns and gender issues for conserving local natural resources, to support the livelihood needs of the local farming,fishing and hunter-gatherer communities.

Project Characteristics and Results
Notable Community Participation
85 community meetings were carried out in 12 villages for effective implementation of the project activities in Maval and Mulshi Taluka. Every project activity was initiated through these meetings involving Sarpanch and Panchayat members, key village members, local Government officer, schoolteachers, women etc. The local environmental issues and possible solutions were discussed at these meetings.
Capacity - Building Component
Six nurseries were developed in the school premises in both talukas for local species of the region with active involvement of villagers and students. 30 local varieties of plants and collectively 900 plants were developed, grown and taken care in those nurseries. These plants then distributed among the students for planting in their village. Teacher training workshop was organised to train teachers to use the visual exhibits in the village and schools. 30 teachers of 12 schools were trained during this workshop.
