The project is categorised under the 3rd Operational Program of GEF that is Biodiversity Conservation. The workshops held under the project could to some extent aware and motivate the people to protect their surroundings and work for the conservation of nature and natural resources. The teachers along with the students have carried out environmental activities like plantation of trees in their school campus and villages. Hunting and poaching has also been stopped in some areas. The educational kit to be brought out under the project can also have some effect on the mindsets of the people to conserve the environment.

The project has created awareness at the local level among teachers, students and communities through the discussions. Apart from that, audio-visual programs, slide shows etc. to highlight the knowledge and ideas on both local and global environmental problems could also create awareness among the masses. The book that is being developed under the project stands for the same purpose to create awareness among the people. They have established links with the Education Department of Manipur, Zonal Education Department, District Council and Ecology and Environment Wing, Department of Forest and Environment, Govt. of Manipur to smoothly carry their activities.

The implementing agency has contributed USD 210 for the awareness programs. The project received co-financing in kind from the Zonal Education Department, Govt. of Manipur, District Council and Ecology and Environment Wing, Department of Forest and Environment, Govt. of Manipur for the teacher training programs. The representatives from these Departments had attended the training programs as resource persons.
