The project focussed on conserving rare medicinal plants of the region through community participation by involving them in collection and sowing them in their own gardens. Under the project 2 nurseries on medicinal plants were raised. The plants from the nurseries were then distributed to the beneficiaries to be sown in their own plot. Distribution of herbs among the beneficiaries was not very effective.

The project can be categorised under the 3rd Operational program of GEF (Forest Ecosystem) that is conservation of indigenous rare medicinal plants and propagating them in order to conserve the biodiversity of the area. It concentrates on provision of management and utilisation of locally available medicinal plants, collection of germplasm for conservation and propagation through Medicinal plant garden.

It is suggested to the implementing agency that it is required to sent the sample of collected Germplasm and project reports to the Director, National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Conservation and Survey Division (Biodiversity), Ministry of Environment and Forests. It will serve the purpose to provide a list of conserved Herbal Germplasm to support the national policies and research.

The project can be replicated to other villages and taken in a large scale. The project-implementing agency has been advised to take initiatives for further funding from other donors and govt. dept. in support of the conservation measures. They have also been advised to take up the commercial aspects of the project that will sustain the project by itself
