Application of Energy Audit and CP tools in improving Energy for Cluster of SSIs and SMEs- case of Naroda Industrial Estate.
The project intended towards the cleaner production assessment in the energy intensive of dye-stuffs and dye-intermediates in a set of firms based in Naroda Industrial Estate, analyze processes & identify causes for existing levels of energy efficiency vis a vis waste, evolve implementation action stages to improve energy efficiency with reduction in wastes & emissions, using state of art portable instruments to quantify & collect baseline information and interaction amongst the participating units to ensure unit level participation.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
A comprehensive publication on identifying energy losses and other waste streams, apart from options for waste minimization and value addition, in the textile processing sector was also compiled. The publication embodied learning from the present project and helped similar processing houses located in and around the city of Ahmedabad.
Notable Community Participation
SME?s and their personnel were involved intensively, clearly demonstrating stakeholder participation. Learning was relevant for the industrial sector in particular and emission reduction activities with implications for the improvement of local air quality were significant for communities in and around industrial estates as part of eco-industrial development.
