Project intends for preservation of thretened crops and indigenous seeds, adopt alternative systems of cultivation for sustainable agriculture, selection of seeds varities which are short, medium and long duration with water, pest and drought tolerent,use of green mannuring, vermiculture bio-fertilizer plant micro organics and sustainable land use to increse soil fertility, dissemination of knowledge through practical training, demonstration sharing and exposure visit tec.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
During the implementation phase of the project, the organization organized training camps to provide training to the farmers for ? preparation and use of organic and bio-fertilizers ? Preparation of vermi compost and nadeep compost. ? Production and preparation of B.G.A and AZOLLA as green manure. ? Preparation of NPV solution. With this, the organization also launched awareness campaign in the area through several street plays and by organizing students rally. Exposure trips were also organized for the capacity and confidence building of the farmers.
Notable Community Participation
The farmers were the major participants of the project. They performed the key role in practicing the vermicoposting and using the organic manure and bio fertilizers in their farms. The farmers were also encouraged to plant medicinal trees like Neem in their farms for the purpose of environment protection. The organization formed Farmer?s club in each of the 30 villages of the project area and the participants farmers were in charge of organic products and also supervised the sell of the fruits, vegetable and other items in the market
