Protection of water source and reforesting the catchment by Soba Daham Sisu Haula, Badulla
Rationale
Sugarcane and chena cultivation has led to deforestation and have caused the natural springs to dry up in the catchment areas.

Objectives
Protection of Narangaswatta water springs and its catchment.
Establish a carbon sink to absorb carbon dioxide emission from sugarcane factories in the area.
Cultivate environmentally friendly attitudes among people through school children.

Activities:
Providing advice on tree plantation and the planting of necessary plants
for the protection of the forest as well as watershed protection
Construction of a protective wall around the water springs.
Plant trees in the catchment area.
Involve children in protecting the hydro catchment.
Strengthen community relationships for further development in the area.
