The people of Syanda are being educated about bio-diversity and global environment. They will be also educated and trained on the importance of bio-diversity, their forest resources and environment conservation during the project construction period as well as this project itself is an instrumental at protecting environment. People will be more aware about global environment upon completion of the project.

This project is one of the most community insisted project. Community participation is highly expected in the following aspects Cash contribution As per multilateral understanding among the donors and local leaders of Syanda VDC will have to contribute some cash in the project. Quantity of the cash contribution needed to be provided on behalf of VDC will be determined after the detailed project design estimate is completed. After the project is completed the users will have to pay tariff of the power that they use as fixed by the committee. Kind Contribution Most of the unskilled labour for the project during the construction phase will be contributed by the community. Unskilled labour includes transportation of wooden poles from the jungle, collection of sand stone and aggregate for civil work for power house. They will provide either private or public land required for the civil work and pole installation free of cost. Project will be bully managed by the users? committee. There will be a team of staff to carry out day to day work under user?s committees command. Every decision regarding the project will be taken by the committee. If any conflict arises during the construction period that will be resolved by the committee itself.

This project will equally benefit both men and women. Women will be feeling more comfortable at doing their household chores and keeping their houses neat and clean. Men will also utilize their leisure time at either making handicrafts or helping the women. Literacy classes will be run particularly for women. Their will be notable representation of women in the committees and decision making bodies. Fetching of fuel wood from the forest which is supposed to be women?s job will be decreased after completion of this project

Upon completion of the project, emphasis will be given to initiate micro-hydro based small enterprises that will be instrumental to upgrade the income level of the community and make the project more sustainable. Existing dependency over the fuel wood will notably decrease and significant improvement in degradation in the forest resources will be observed. So far people of Syanda have been affected by dust and smoke existed inside their tiny and dark housed which are causing many respiratory and eye related diseases. Power supply will of course lessen such problems. Likewise, their homes may be cleaner than before.
