Environmental Education and Awareness Programme
The YWCA recognizes that there are many environmental threats from development and efforts to minimize their results in the impacting of environmentally related factors on the life of the community. It is felt that there is a need to educate the young on the issues of Biodiversity so that their level of awareness regarding the sustainable use of our natural resources is raised to the point where they become partners in man?s efforts to save the environment and through many such efforts the wider world can be saved.
The project will:
1. raise the level of awareness of the participants about Biodiversity by providing opportunities for the acquisition of knowledge through guided on-site study, examination, discussion, and explanation of the selected areas.
2. assist participants in understanding the reasons for decisions taken with respect to the management of the natural resources
3. lay the foundation for the development of future environmental protectors through understanding of the issues.
