Assessment of industrial, agricultural and urban pollution potential at the catchment area of Ohrid and Prespa and recommendation of measures for NGO activities related to the prevention and rehabilitation of pollution
The Ohrid-Prespa catchment area represents a zone of high biological and economic values that is shared between Albania, Greece and FYROM. The area is characterized by a high degree of endemism with unique species of global and regional importance.
One of the priority objectives of the project will be a complete inventory of industrial, agricultural and urban pollution sources in the Albanian side of Ohrid-Prespa lakes. Two seminars will be organized, aiming at orienting activities of NGOs, public and private enterprises towards reducing pollution loads through introduction of clean technologies. A thorough analysis of the present regional environmental policies will be made followed by recommendations for future developments.
