Enhancing crop productivity by introduction of soil conservation measures and biodiversified crop systems through active participation of tribal women.
The project intends to create a model for reorienting the modern agriculture system by putting women at the forefront. It includes selection of young, enthusiastic women beneficiaries in the villages to act as a motivators and animators, awareness generation among the women about indigenous crop varieties, mixed cropping, herbal medicines, soil and water conservation measures to enhance biodiversity on the farms of poor beneficiaries to achieve food and economic security.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
Capacity building efforts of the project included training of women motivators and beneficiaries, preparation of resource material, concept discussion and demonstration, awareness creation and motivation of beneficiaries. It also included exposure visit of beneficiaries and follow up of activities.
Project sustainability
It was certain that the project activities would sustain for a longer time as follow up action continued even after the expiry of the project. Sustainability was also ensured because the technical intervention proposed was based on the use of locally and easily available resources.
