Capacity-building and qualification courses will be offered in: cooperativism; agroforestry management; base production group organization; beekeeping implementation and management; ecological soil management; agrofroestry community bees; controlled use of fire; Cerrado seed collection, storage and planting; honey processing and commercialization; organic fertilizers. All of these courses will be offered to 25 participants.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Conventional farming techniques, in addition to the increase in local population have taken a toll on the local resources. The environment will benefit from this project as follows: the use of fire for conventional farming will be limited; small farming production will be diversified, promoting rational use of the resources available locally; collective rules will be established for use of renewable resources; erosion will be studied and prevented; water courses will no longer be polluted; organic soil management; reduction in the use of agrotoxins; promotion of native Cerrado species according to their economic and environmental dimensions. The livelihoods of these smallholder families will thus reach sustainability.
