During execution of this project, efforts were made to meet all regulations and sanitary requirements. Partnerships were secured, resulting even in a municipal law for commercialization of wildlife, which did not previously exist. Technical meetings were held, and images were captured for production of a video. Production is under way, and commercialization has been started, though it is not yet at the level necessary for sustainability of the initiative. Local farmers became more conscious of the fish culture activities and environmental conservation. Some lessons learned include: working with the local government reduces costs but makes meeting deadlines nearly impossible; the existing capybara tanks are not appropriate for use in the fish culture activities, some adaptations are required; innovative experiences of this type are heavily dependent on information exchange for their success, and this exchange creates companionship, which is essential for finding the correct path to be tread; information about processing and improvement equipment is scarce. An assessment of local native fruit and flowers was undertaken, for identification of the ones consumed by the fish. Such studies were submitted to the local environment authorities for use in the recovery of degraded riparian woods.
