This project suffered a great delay in its execution due to problems in the internal organization of the association. The Woman Babassu Palmnut Cracker Movement had internal disputes, but all activities and results proposed in the original project were successfully achieved, nonetheless. Some unexpected positive results were also obtained for the long run. Another difficulty faced by the project was the logistics for transportation among the twenty nuclei involved in the activities. The activities undertaken in this project contributed immensely to the recovery and dissemination of traditional knowledge on medicinal uses of native Cerrado plants, increasing local conscience on the importance of conservation and rational use of the local natural resources. The modest cost of the action, when compared to the large number of women involved, and the magnitude of the positive results, make this experience extremely successful and worthy of praise.
