After the completion of the first part of the project, 70% of the planned activities had been implemented. Due to delays in the disbursement of grants, the project was delayed in a couple months. Approximately 50% of the capacity-building in reception, accomodation, and orientation of the guests had been accomplished. Hands on experience was offered, as AGROTEC received 80 visitors from different origins and with different cultural background. The following procedure was used when receiving visitors: reception and accomodation os the guests; introduction of the organization and its partners; introduction of the partners responsible for accomodations and meals; introduction of the AGROTEC extractivist products; explanation of rules for visitors, including areas where photography is allowed, meal times, safety procedures when dealing with wild animals and use of fire; explanation of the different activities; definition of the visits, according to the interest of the visitors; scheduling of the visits with the respective partners; definition of a guide to lead visitors to each partner defined for the visit; posterior discussion about visit, to establish partnerships, information exchange, new ideas, etc. The main difficulty faced in the implementation of the project, apart from the delay in the disbursement of the grant, was a need for re-distribution of funds within the allocated budget due to new demands, but this was done successfully. The project was successful in helping the conservation of the Cerrado not only by generating income for that conservation experience, but also by building awareness in its visitors on the subject. The largest TV network in Brazil made arrangements to record a story for one of its programs with highest ratings.

The second stage of the project was comprised mostly of expanding the number of AGROTEC partners and training them in tourism, expanding the accomodation capacity, preparation of informative brochures, implementation of trails for tourists, improvement of the existing labels and packaging for AGROTEC products. Again, some re-distribution of funds within the alloted budget was necessary. The rainy season also delayed some of the construction work. The number of visitors went up to 200, and many partnerships started due to these visits, with both local and federal government, as well as universities and the private sector. A video was prepared for diffusion of the work done at AGROTEC, as well as a TV story. The US magazine YES printed a story about the activities at AGROTEC and the cooperation with the Xavante Indians at Pimentel Barbosa Community.
