The Babaçu coconut micro-plant will be the site of this project, in the Sete Barracas Village, São Miguel do Tocantins municipality, state of Tocantins. This micro-plant was installed by the state university for self-sustainable electricity production in the Rural area. Extraction of Babaçu palmnut oil will be powered by the micro-plant and the product sold to soap factories in Imperatirz, state of Maranhão, 9 km away. CASB is experienced in political community mobilization in the region.

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Interest in the babaçu palmnut will be created, lessening the deforestation of this species and increasing its conservation. This will also bring a higher level of income for the families involved.
Notable Community Participation
The entire community will collect and extract the nuts from the palmnut. Community members who have received proper training will extract the oil, operating the micro-plant.
