The proposal of this project plans for the development of a management plan needed for the creation of a conservation unit of indirect use in the municipality of Ijaci, state of Minas Gerais. A wild animal demonstrative production unit will also benefit from this management plan. The planning of the municipality was taken into account when the areas for these activities were chosen. The creation of the Ijaci Mountain Range Natural Municipal Park is planned, as well as the implementation of the wild animal demonstrative production unit, for capybaras, white-lipped peccaries, and other animals. The creation of an association of sustainable resource producers and an improving plant are also planned.

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
A microbasin will be effectively protected as well as an important fragment of the Cerrado. Sustainable use of the resources will guarantee employment and income for the community.
Notable Community Participation
The community will be involved in discussion groups for the development of the management plan. They will also contribute with administration, miscellaneous services, implementation of the programs in the management plan, and improvement of fauna and flora resources.
