Ayil Okmotu gave to NGO 0.25 hectars land to rent on 50 years for construction of flower greenhouse and nursery.
The fact that the actions under the project will result not only in additional sources of the income of the local population and , but also in restoration of natural tulips population, included into Red Book, that will be the direct contribution to preservation of a global biodiversity will be emphasized at seminars and other advocacy actions.

The flowers from greenhouse will be delivered to Bishkek city for selling and received profit will be used for further capacity building of local people.

The local population participates in an estimation and location of tulips included in the Kyrgyz Red Book. The local population agrees to stop grazing on sites, where the bulbs of tulips will planted. The local population inputs significant own means in creation of a greenhouse to grow bulbs of tulips and flowers.

The population gets new skills in flower-growing and raises the level of knowledge about interrelation of economic activity and rehabilitation of natural ecosystem. Thanks to the project the threat of endemic tulips disappearance was decreased. It was achieved due to creation of a greenhouse for growing bulbs of tulips and flowers. That will be the direct contribution to preservation of a global biodiversity.

Overgrazing on the slopes allows degrading of land sources, increasing trample probability and promotes disappearance of endemic tulips. Project was directed on demonstration of alternative or additional to cattle-breeding economic activity ? flower growing. Co-financing from Public Association ?Otogon? in cash is 3050$, in kind 3250$.
The main kinds of co-finance were labor on field research carrying out and labor of flower specialists which helped to project with consultations and greenhouse construction.
Replication in other communities or regions
This project is appropriate for replicating in analogous geographic conditions countries but for it necessary to solve the problem of greenhouse construction. There are no plans on up-scaling the project to a medium-sized GEF.

The narrative report of the project
60 the most active inhabitants of village participated in the field researches and seeds gathering. It is determined, that tulips meet in the given territory rather seldom (on 1m² 1-2 pieces). More densely tulips meet in difficult access for people and cattle places (up to 20 pieces on 1m²). The places of their growth were marked on map. The explanatory work was conducted with inhabitants and pupils during tulips flowering in April-May with the purpose of their preservation. A plenty of seeds were gathered. In total it is collected 1500 boxes. 2 seminars and 3 meetings have conducted; in general about 120 persons participated in them. Ayil Okmotu has allocated the plot for construction of greenhouse. After greenhouse construction 6 thousand tulips was planted. For project sustainability 3 thousand saplings of roses was purchased. The project has got wide information support, with the purpose to increase the public awareness. 3 articles were published in rayon and republican newspapers. A small video material about the project was shown on TV.
