The Accra Zoo, the only zoo in the capital city and one of the only two zoos in the country, is poorly resourced and enjoys a low patronage by the public. The zoo has the potential to be a major resource for teaching children, particularly about nature and biodiversity in general.
The project is to provide learning aids to the Educational Centre and to erect billboards and directional signs at vantage points to advertise the zoo and increase its visitor numbers.
