Capacity building and effective participation to reduce and monitor GHG emissions from public transportation in the city of Gaza.
The project will contribute to adopting sustainable transport modalities and promoting their use by rcollecting data and conducting field monitoring on the concerntration of the following elements CO2, NO2, SO2 and Hydrocarbons in the ambience air in three different locations (crowded, less crowded area) for 24 hours in three consequent days and raising public awareness and developing capacities of the concerned paties through organizing workshops conducting training for drivers, producing guiding posters and stickers and staiing advocacy activities with the revelent government ministries. Training and awareness activities will be further steps to the monitoring of ground transport emissions in three crowded/less crowded areas of the Gaza city

Capacity - Building Component
Providing training g for 20 drivers for an average duration of 24 to 30 hours, producing training material for 1000 copy and organizing three workshops for governmental, non ? governmental and public for 30 participants for each workshop each aiming to promote environmentally sustainable transport.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Raising public awareness of the concerned parties through organizing workshops, producing 1000 copy of guiding posters ( 70X50 cm ), 10,000 copy of a sticker (15X15 cm) and TV clip for one minute each aiming at adopting climate-friendly transport and starting advocacy initiatives with the ministers of Health, Transport, and the Environment Commission and the Union of drivers.
