Building capacity of school teachers to conserve biodiversity.
Capacity building project for 25 school teachers focusing on the importance of the biodiversity conservation for sustaining and protecting the threatened and indigenous species in Hebron. Teachers will act as catalysts to lead a process of change the understanding and behavior of the school pupils and other teachers and initiating collective effort to conserve significant species in the area.
The project will contribute to the conservation of biodiversity in Hebron area by conducting training, field visits and producing public awareness material.

Capacity - Building Component
Providing 12 days training programme for a total of 72 hours for science teachers to introduce different biodiversity aspects and its conservation techniques. The training programme is divided into two consequent parts; · Information- based programme to introduce the nature of biodiversity in Palestine in general and Hebron in particular i.e. significant plant and animal species, explain the economic value of the biodiversity, identify the threatened biodiversity resources and demonstrate in-situ conservation techniques. · Field-tour programme to visit the biodiversity significant sites such Hebron wadis?, natural reserves?..etc.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Raising public awareness on biodiversity conservation by producing two posters of 1500 copy each of size 80 X 60 cm to present the most significant sites in Hebron, initiating quarterly environmental-journal and producing 1000 copy of the first addition to include activities and initiatives of both the school pupils as well as teachers, introducing methods of transferring the information on biodiversity conservation through non-curriculum activities for the targeted schools by introducing teacher to teacher and pupils to pupil?s methods, and producing high quality videocassettes to document the activities of the training and effectively disseminate
