Promotion of solar training and demonstration in rural areas

One of the biggest problems that face off grid rural communities is lack of reliable power. Lack of power limits possibilities of development activities and thus contribute to rural poverty. Project aims at assisting a solar training facility called KARADEA to train solar technicians in the district who in turn will promote, install and maintain solar systems in Karagwe district.

Solar is a renewable energy, wide adoption of which improves the global environment. Through 4 demonstrations and 2 fairs, awareness on the technology by the general public will be enhanced.

Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples

The project will promote awareness on solar electricity technology to indigenous people in Karagwe district.

This project will build the capacity of farmers and technicians through 4 solar electricity demonstrations and 2 fairs.
